Privacy Policy

SimpliStockAlerts (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, your rights regarding your data, and how we keep it secure. By using our services, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, payment info, account credentials.

  • Usage & Device Information: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, and activity on our platform.

  • Communication Data: Messages sent or received via email, SMS, WhatsApp, and push notifications.

  • Aggregated/Anonymized Data: Trends and insights generated from user interactions, with no personally identifiable information.

1a. Mobile Phone Numbers

We collect mobile phone numbers for the purpose of delivering SMS alerts and account notifications requested by the user. Mobile phone numbers and associated consent/opt-in data are never sold, rented, leased, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Phone numbers are used to provide the requested services and comply with applicable laws.

1b. Payment Method Data

When you subscribe, payment information is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc. This may include your payment card details, billing address, and limited payment method metadata such as card funding type (for example, credit, debit, or prepaid) and card-issuing country. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information
  • Provide, operate, and improve SimpliStockAlerts services.

  • Send alerts, notifications, service updates, and account communications.

  • Analyze usage patterns to improve functionality and user experience.

  • Generate aggregated and anonymized insights which may be shared or sold to third parties.

  • Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.
     

2a. How We Use Payment Information

We use payment information and related metadata to:

  • Process subscription payments

  • Calculate and apply payment processing surcharges where permitted by applicable law, using your billing address and payment method. Connecticut and Massachusetts state law prohibit credit card surcharges.

  • Determine whether a Payment Processing Fee applies to a transaction

  • Comply with applicable laws and payment network rules related to payment processing

  • Prevent fraud and manage billing operations

3. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personally identifiable information. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Vendors who provide services such as hosting, email/SMS delivery, analytics, or payment processing.

  • Aggregated Data: Anonymized trends or insights, which exclude any SMS opt-in data or messaging consent information, may be shared or sold for research or analytics purposes.

  • Legal Obligations: When required by law or to protect our rights.
     

4. Sharing Mobile Phone Numbers

We may share mobile phone numbers with trusted service providers solely for the purpose of delivering SMS messages and operating our messaging infrastructure. These providers are contractually obligated to protect user data and use it only for providing services on our behalf.

We do not sell, rent, or lease mobile phone numbers or opt-in consent data to any third party. These providers are contractually prohibited from using phone numbers for any purpose other than delivering messages on our behalf. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties for any purpose.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have several options to manage your personal information and control how we use it.

  • Access and correct your personal information.

  • Request deletion of your personal information.

  • Opt-out of marketing emails, SMS, WhatsApp, and push notifications.

  • SMS Alerts: Reply STOP to any alert message to opt out immediately of all alerts. You may also reply START to re-enable alerts at any time.

California Residents 

If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA provide you with the following additional rights:

  • Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources we collected it from, our business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties we share it with.

  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions (such as completing active transactions, complying with legal obligations, or preventing fraud).

  • Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.

  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: SimpliStockAlerts does not sell or share your personally identifiable information. We may share or sell aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

 

How to Submit a Request

To exercise any of these rights, email support@simplistockalerts.com with "Privacy Rights Request" in the subject line. Include your full name, email address, and phone number associated with your account, along with a description of your request.

Identity Verification

To protect your privacy, we will verify your identity before fulfilling your request by confirming your registered email address and sending a verification code to your registered phone number. For deletion requests, we may ask additional questions about your account activity.

We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days. If we require additional time, we will notify you in writing within the initial 45-day period.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.

Account Deletion

Upon account closure or your request for deletion:

  • We retain your personal data for up to 90 days to allow for account recovery.

  • After 90 days, we permanently delete personal information including your name, email address, phone number, payment references, and alert configurations.

  • We may retain certain data longer where required by law, including tax and financial records (7 years for IRS compliance) and records related to active legal disputes or investigations.

Aggregated or anonymized data that does not identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and business intelligence purposes. SMS opt-in and opt-out records are retained as required by applicable telecommunications law regardless of account status.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to enhance user experience and functionality, collect usage analytics, and deliver personalized alerts or recommendations.

Current Cookie Usage

At this time, SimpliStockAlerts only uses cookies that are strictly necessary to operate the service — specifically, authentication and session management cookies that keep you logged in as you navigate the platform, and security cookies that protect against unauthorized access. These cookies do not track your activity outside of SimpliStockAlerts.

Analytics and personalization cookie capabilities are planned for a future release. When implemented, we will update this policy and provide you with options to manage those cookies.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

You may manage or disable cookies via your browser settings. Disabling required session cookies will prevent you from logging into your account.

8. Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

SimpliStockAlerts is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we become aware of such data, we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a “Last Updated” date. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Privacy Complaints

If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please email us with "Privacy Complaint" in the subject line and include a detailed description of your concern and the resolution you are seeking. We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 24 hours and provide a substantive written response within 30 days. If we need additional time due to complexity, we will notify you in writing before the 30-day period expires.

We will not retaliate against you in any way for filing a good-faith privacy complaint.
